A satisfied stomach is guaranteed. This is no wonder, since our menu is a stronghold of Carinthian cuisine – with delectable influences from our neighbouring countries of Italy and Slovenia. The ingredients are selected based on the seasons themselves: we only serve the freshest and most seasonal food. Local farmers and producers supply us with honest, high-quality products. This provides head chef Kurt Kristan and his team with plenty of inspiration to create wonderful dishes.

And you can taste it: We cook with passion and dedication. With respect for nature and against the mainstream trend. With our Alpe-Adria lakeside cuisine, we combine down-to-earth and traditional flavours with the Mediterranean lightness of the south. A perfect combination.

Our process: We harvest the herbs from our own garden, source the fish from local waters and get our meat from the region. The exquisite pastries are created in our hotel’s own bakery. For the most discerning of palates.

Only that which is sourced from local agriculture, regional producers and the respective season is allowed in our kitchen. We celebrate the classics and interpret them with a modern, light twist. The result: refined, authentic Alpe-Adria lakeside cuisine. Created by the hands of masters.

Where the adults are lost for words and the little ones can’t stop enthusing. That’s how breathtaking the view from our lakeside terrace is. The magical turquoise-blue of Lake Klopein gives way to every shade of green – from the hills and forests all the way to the mountains. In the evenings, as the sun sets in a burnt orange, the moon is already hanging in the sky and the stars begin to twinkle, the mood shifts at the Sonne See-Bad. After the jubilant bathing activity, immerse yourself in a laid-back social atmosphere of relaxation on the lakeside terrace.

The cosy booths float like gondolas above Lake Klopein. Our sunny, covered and softly upholstered seating units are built like box seats right over the water. For that extra portion of Riviera feeling. From sunup to sundown, our lakeside terrace provides the stage for all the culinary showpieces: from the delightful breakfast each morning, to the feel-good midday lunch to the trendy evening aperitif.

Guaranteed to lift the spirits: When the swans glide by majestically, the reeds sway gently in the breeze, the pedal boats bob merrily in the water, the great crested grebes stretch their elegant necks and the little fish explore the bottom of the lake right below your seats. On holiday here, even the tiniest of details can have a big impact.

The place to chat, kick back, unwind, look back on the day and toast to the beauty of the moment with a good glass of wine – a toast to laughter, to life and to its pleasures big and small alike. With sweet greetings from our bakery and an exquisite cup of coffee for company, the afternoon is particularly delightful as you gaze out across the lake. 

The gentle crackling of the fireplace and the last rays of sunshine complete the picture. Cosy seating spots everywhere you look, service with a smile, colourful cocktails, trendy aperitifs and sophisticated long drinks. The lake lit up by the starry sky and live music once a week. A worthy conclusion to an unforgettable day of your holidays.

The newest addition to our culinary proposals is the 'Sonne Lounge'. More room for indulgence is provided to our guests through delicious small snacks and fondly prepared drinks throughout the whole afternoon while you enjoy an extraordinary view of Lake Klopein.

Soaking up sunrays while unwinding and enjoying a cup of coffee. Comfortable seatings invite you to abide and enjoy the incomparable view of the lake out of the first row.
